JPOrigOils
In 1999, Jan became known as Jan Polk, Painter of the Great American Flower Collection (GAFC), the "respect series" of fine art watercolor
paintings....images which are reminders to treat yourself and others with respect.
Beginning in 2003, Jan Polk is also becoming well known for her impressionist, plein air oil plaintings. The oil paintings are painted on location using only a palette knife and oil paints. jJan learned this technique by studying with Susan Sarback, founder of the School of Light and Color. Here is where she also learned to use Monet's palette which has no earth tones. If we need those colors, we mix them as needed.
